The grandfather of Nikita, Nicolai Donets, who served in the military, plays mock war with the children of Nikishno village in the garden behind his home in Nikishno village, in an effort to entertain the kids, and to  try to dispel their fear of war, after months of fighting in their village in the DNR territory, September 27, 2015.  Children are Violetta Lebedovych (??),  Rustam Ibragimov, 9, his little sister, Victoria, 3, and Nikita Piskainov, 10, many of the children from Nikishino village are still dealing with the violence they have witnessed in their village, and with the fact that many of their homes were either paritally or totally destoyed during months of fighting.  The grandfather of Nikita, Nicolai Donets, who served in the military, plays mock war with the children, and tries to dispel their fear of war. Nikishno  was far from the sites of early skirmishing and neither side bothered trying to control this small village until it turned out it was on the path of a major Ukrainian offensive begun in July with the goal of encircling Donetsk city, the provincial capital. Using long-range artillery and spotter aircraft to target it, the Ukrainian army was pushing separatists back from one town after another.
